Subaru Zero-Landfill Factory

A

lthough a gas-powered vehicle manufacturer isn't the first thing to jump to the front of your mind when considering sustainability, Subaru has taken a path most-necessary in the transition away from a fossil-fueled society: zero-landfill production of vehicles. Despite the desired eventual outcome of a carbon-neutral world, we are still very much a society depending on ozone-depleting fuel, and the complete transition away from this model is still a couple of decades or more away. With their Zero-Landfill Factory, Subaru of Indiana Automotive recycles 99.6% of its waste and have sent nothing to a landfill since May 4, 2004.
